Ayer celebrando mi 33 cumpleaños, no paré de hacer cosas interesantes y divertidas. Una de ellas fue ir hasta el Museo de Cristal de Shanghai, está bastante lejos del centro, pero merece mucho la pena ir hasta allí...


Yesterday to celebrate my bday, my friend Matt organized a trip to the Shanghai Glass Museum, quite far from downtown but it's a really interesting place!

Lo mejor fue participar en un taller de soplado de vidrio. We did a glassblowing worshop!

El taller consistía en hacer nuestra propia pieza de cristal. Primero, elegimos la forma y los colores (yo elegí una jarra con forma de buho y muchos colores!) y luego guiados por un experto y por un traductor íbamos pasito a pasito, trabajando el vidrio...

We chose first the shape and the colors of the object we wanted to create, and then an expert and a traslator were guiding us step by step...

Primero se coge el vidrio del horno de fundición. Hay que girar constantemente la vara, por la que luego se sopla, para dar forma al objeto.

También se moldea en esta especie de cuenco...

Once you get the melted glass from the oven you have to rotate the pipe all the time in order to shape the glass, then blow...

Tuvimos que dejar las piezas allí porque hay que meterlas en una especie de horno para que no exploten a los veinte minutos!! Nos acercaremos otro día a por ellas y a visitar el museo.
